A new Call of Duty: Warzone Pacific map is on its way, and here is everything you need to know about the new map called Caldera.
Like any battle royale, playing on the same map over and over can become repetitive. Especially if you've been playing on what is mostly the same map for over a year, which has been the case for the Call of Duty: Warzone community.
Verdansk has been the main map for Call of Duty: Warzone for the past 20 months. Even though Raven Software added Rebirth Island, its size is much smaller than Verdansk.
Warzone's map has seen some changes though, with the biggest being the transformation of modern-day Verdansk into Verdansk '84 during Season 3 of Black Ops Cold War.
Luckily, players are about to get what they've been hoping for. A new Warzone Pacific map is confirmed, and it will be more than just a few new POIs.
When does Warzone Pacific Caldera map release?
The new Warzone Pacific map, called Caldera, will be available on December 9 for free for everyone. However, if you own Vanguard, you can get 24 hours early access to the map beginning on December 8.

Caldera was originally meant to launch on December 2, but Call of Duty announced on November 19 that the update had been delayed a week.
What does Caldera look like? All POIs
An Activision executive gave us a top-down view of Caldera, showing what it looks like and revealing the POIs. From this, players have figured out that it will be around the same size as Verdansk.

Here are all of the POIs revealed for Caldera so far:
- Naval Shipyard
- Ore Processing Docks
- Ancient Structures
- Volcano
- Phosphor Mines
- Beach Defences
- Submarine Base
- Taro Farms
- Air Port
- Fishing Village
- City Capital
Also, Calling Cards unlocked in the Secrets of the Pacific event have given us a good look at some of the POIs.
What's included in Warzone Pacific's Caldera update?
The launch of the Caldera Warzone map lines up with the start of Vanguard x Warzone Season 1, which will feature a new Battle Pass, Operators, weapons, and the RICOCHET anti-cheat.

And not only will the Warzone action move to WW2 and the Pacific, but all of the Operators, Weapons, and cosmetics from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Black Ops Cold War will carry over. Players can use this content in the Caldera Battle Royale mode, whereas the Vanguard Royale mode will only feature WW2 weapons and equipment.
And Warzone players have been crying out for a more effective anti-cheat, and Activision has answered with RICOCHET. This kernel-level anti-cheat has been built exclusively for Warzone and Vanguard, so we'll need to wait and see how effective it is.

After being teased back when Verdansk '84 first arrived, the Old Mines have finally opened up with the Secrets of the Pacific event. Here's where to find all of the mines, and what's inside them.
After modern-day Verdansk was nuked to end the zombie outbreak in April, Call of Duty: Warzone's map traveled back in time to the 1980s. This brought new POIs and overhauled existing ones.
One change players were excited to see was the Old Mines opening up, but as Warzone Pacific's Caldera map was fast approaching, they'd given up hope of seeing it happen. However, Raven Software is running several events to mark the end of Verdansk, and the most recent, Secrets of the Pacific, has finally opened up the mines.
Here's where you can find these new mine shaft areas and what's inside them.

- What's inside Warzone's Old Mine?
Warzone mine locations
The only mines that have opened in Secrets of the Pacific are the Old Mines south of Summit. You can find them below the mining shacks on the hill directly northeast of Airport, where there are several entrances.

There's another set of mines at the north end of Salt Mine, but they haven't opened up for this event. As we fast approach Caldera on December 8, it's unlikely that these mines were ever designed to be opened up. But, we'll need to wait and see how Verdansk's final days unfold.
What's inside Warzone's Old Mine?
The Old Mines contains everything you'd expect to find inside a Warzone POI, such as Chests and floor loot, but there's also Secrets of the Pacific Intel inside.

If you head to the zipline at the west side that takes you down into the mines, you'll find a box of dynamite right at the bottom. Press interact with the box and you'll collect the Intel, then you need to hold onto it for the specified amount of circle collapses.
Survive with the Intel and you'll unlock the Familiar Machinery Spray. Do this for all six pieces of Intel and you'll get the Bomber Menace STG44 Blueprint.
And that's everything you need to know about Verdansk's mines opening up! For more Warzone, be sure to check out the "no recoil" Krig loadout that's gone viral on TikTok.

FaZe Swagg claims "fan-favorite" Warzone weapon has returned to the meta
Warzone's AMAX hasn't been the best option since it was nerfed. FaZe Swagg tried it out recently and now claims it's returning to the meta.

FaZe Swagg's recent video highlighted the Warzone Season 6 AMAX after its nerfs in previous seasons. Although the weapon isn't as strong as it was, it currently has one of the highest weapon K/D's which could see it return to the meta.
Warzone has had a lot of crazy weapon metas over the seasons with Black Ops Cold War. Players have even been able to get a taste of how strong these weapons were through the Operation Flashback LTM.
From the DMR to the MAC-10, a lot of these strong weapons were nerfed and knocked off the top spot.
With that being said, FaZe Swagg decided to go back and give the AMAX a try in Warzone Season 6, which he claims is "one of the most loved guns of all time."
Although many felt the AMAX had to be nerfed at the time, FaZe Swagg shared his opinions on the nerfs in his recent video.
It seems Swagg felt the changes to the AMAX were unfair, believing that the AMAX was one of the "only guns in Warzone's history that genuinely took skill and was good." FaZe Swagg felt as if the nerfs affected high-skill players, as "only really good players used the AMAX."

Although the Warzone meta is no doubt about to change with the upcoming Vanguard integration and new map, FaZe Swagg decided to give the AMAX a chance and the result may be surprising to some.
In the video, Swagg explains why he decided to try out the AMAX. It turns out that the AMAX featured as one of the "highest K/D guns in Warzone as of right now." Upon trying it out in the video, the Warzone content creator was pleasantly surprised.
In the gameplay, Swagg manages to get a win in solo duos, racking up 32 kills and 9k damage. This has left FaZe Swagg believing that the AMAX definitely has a place among the best weapons in Warzone Season 6, saying that "in today's meta it's really really good."

So, with that being said, we could be seeing a revival for the AMAX in Warzone's final season of the Black Ops Cold War integration. However, this may not last long as weapons like the STG44 and MP40 make their way into Warzone from Vanguard.
